Who Am I?

I am Victoria Grace Howell.  An INFJ from Atlanta, Georgia -think Southern without the accent. I write science-fiction, fantasy, and steampunk – you know – the weird stuff. I’m currently in university at Chattahoochee Technical College.

With over six years of freelance writing experience covering a variety of subjects, I have been published in the following:

Writing, traveling, art, and geek culture are my passions with writing being first since childhood. Though I work multiple day jobs, being a full-time novelist is my dream, which I work at daily. I also make it a point to regularly attend writer’s conferences both nationally and internationally for a continued exposure to the wit and wisdom of authors, publishers, agents, and other members of the writing community. Realm Makers is one of my regular conferences being educational, inspiring, and providing a great opportunity to network.

When I’m not hard at work on my novels or day jobs, I love traveling and look for opportunities to expand my horizons. Writer’s conferences, book research, conventions, visiting family and friends, and making new connections throughout this country and beyond, all give me the best reasons to travel!

Another favorite pastime of mine is cosplaying. I’ve always enjoyed costuming and cosplay allows me to express this geeky, artsy side. Creating and wearing the costumes of my favorite characters while attending a geeky convention, gives me an opportunity to meet some of my favorite geek celebrities. However, when my extroverted self is exhausted you will often find me watching anime (particularly Attack on Titan and My Hero Academia), playing video games (such as The Legend of Zelda or Final Fantasy), reading books, books and more books, or watching some favorite movies like Lord of the Rings, the Hunger Games, or Marvel films.

Inukshuk

Who is the little dude?

This is an Inukshuk. He’s two and a half inches tall with a star marble body and a nephrite jade base. I’ve been fascinated by Inukshuks since my first visit to Canada in 2016. They’re an Inuit symbol for safe travels. In northern Canada, they’re giant statues of stone that were – and still are – used as markers for travelers to find their way through the snowy tundra.

After being in a bad car accident two months after moving to Atlanta, these symbols have been totems for me and helped me through times of PTSD and extreme anxiety while traveling. In 2018, I found Little Inukshuk in a gift shop in Jasper, AB and he has been my travel companion ever since. He’s been with me to Iceland and all over the United States. And he’s a constant reminder that no matter where the road takes me, I will be safe.
