It’s Soundtrack Sunday again! The day where I post awesome music to write to or just listen to for pleasure if you’re a fellow soundtrack junkie. This past Thursday, I saw the movie Pan. Though I didn’t care about it too much (Check out my full opinion in my Pan review on Geeks Under Grace), I found a few gems in the soundtrack. John Powell is normally a favorite composer of mine, but I actually didn’t favor this soundtrack. This piece though is the best in my opinion.
This piece is very quiet and apprehensive with soft strings and a creaking solo fiddle. Then more strings add making this chaos of uncertainty. It creates a very unusual sound that makes you pensive while listening to it. I love the tone it creates. It’s perfect for a tense scene between two characters in a fantasy or historical story. You can listen to more epic music in my Soundtrack Sundays YouTube playlist.
Have you heard this piece before? What do you think of it? Have you seen Pan?
