May has blessedly been a hopeful month for me. The world finally seems to truly be going back to normal. I feel freer. I can make plans without being scared they’re going to be canceled. It was one of the happiest months I’ve had in a while.
What I Did
1.) I’ve taken a break from writing this month. I haven’t allowed myself a true break in a while.
2.) I went to the Georgia Renaissance Festival! I haven’t been to this festival since I was a kid with my homeschool group, so it was really cool to go back and it’s my first big activity since the world went to pot. It felt so normal and freeing to not wear a mask and to just be me in costume running around a fair with friends.
3.) I finished reading Circe by Madeline Miller and The Wolf in the Whale by Jordanna Max Brodsky and I have reviews up on my Instagram!
4.) My Etsy shop is doing pretty well! And if you’re seeing this before May 31st I have a 30% off sale going on!
The Geeky Department
1.) I’ve started playing Final Fantasy VIII and I’m going at it a little slowly because for some reason I’m having a disconnect lately with games that don’t have any voice acting, but I like the plot so far and I’ll finish it eventually haha.
2.) Many people who know me know that I was terrified of the 1978 version of Watership Down, so I’ve been hesitant to watch the new version, but I decided to give Watership Down (2018) a chance and I actually liked it. I like how the author created lore for rabbits and other forest animals and the acting was pretty good.
Another great one I saw was Shadow and Bone! I loved it so much I sculpted a character from the show! It’s so awesome!
3.) My newest anime love is Demon Slayer! I’d seen some art from it for a while but I haven’t decided to watch it until a week or so ago and I’m loving the pure-hearted main character and the wild story world. I also like that it’s set in the 1920s which is a really unique time period for animes.
4.) I SAW MY FIRST FILM IN OVER A YEAR! YES! I missed going to the theater so bad and I’m so happy my first film in a while was A Quiet Place Part II! It was so good guys! Just as good as the first film! I don’t want to spoil but I highly recommend this movie!
5.) I’m finally working on a cosplay again since it looks like conventions are back! YES! I’m working on my cosplay for Macrophage from Cells at Work! I’m also making her giant cleaver which I’m so excited about!
What I’m Going to Do
1.) I’m planning on continuing my writing break until Realm Makers in July. A lot of not great writing stuff has happened this year and I’m hoping RM will help restore my writing spirit.
2.) I’m starting school next month! Math and English! Wish me luck! 😀 I’m also visiting a friend before the semester starts. 🙂
3.) I’m currently reading the first book of the Wingfeather Saga by Andrew Peterson!
4.) I’m working on some commissions due this month and adding new listings! Here’s one of my latest ones which is Kyo from Fruits Basket!

Changes to the Blog
There are going to be some big changes to the blog. I’m just going to be posting monthly summaries or if I have a trip or special event since you guys seem to like those and I have fun writing journal posts. Those posts seem to garner the most traffic and what with school I just don’t have time to keep writing posts that aren’t doing much. I am going to be posting some shorter reviews and such on my Instagram and I’ll be posting lots of pictures on my Neverfound Figures account so you’ll see me there if you want haha. This is tough for me to do since I’ve been doing consistent posts for almost ten years now, but what with school and running my sculpting business I just can’t justify dedicating as much time here as I used to. I’ll be posting on the last Friday of every month and I’ll let you know if I’m going to post at another time. Thank you for understanding. <3
Conclusion
So many big changes are happening and I’m still reeling from them. School starts next month so that’s a new schedule and I’m also trying to run a small business. I’m always riddled with doubts when big changes happen in my life. Will I mess up? Will this wreck my current life? Will I hate these new changes? Will I get bad grades? Will I get some nasty reviews on my Etsy? And because of my dumb anxiety brain I have to keep reminding myself about the good things.
In school, I can finally stop cringing every graduation season when I see people graduating college and I feel like the idiot who didn’t and people think I’m dumb because I didn’t go to college. I’m beginning to support myself with my artwork which is a massive dream of mine even if it isn’t supporting myself with writing for now. Sometimes I get so nervous I get dizzy but I’m hoping this is the start of a better season in my life.
I’m going back to school this Fall too for marketing, so we can commiserate in mutual going-to-schoolness. Best of luck with wherever life takes you next!
Best of luck for you too!
I’m so glad to hear May was a good one for you and you allowed yourself a break. That makes me happy! <3
I always LOVE all your posts and will miss them dearly. You have written so very many thought-provoking, extremely helpful, and just downright FUN posts over the years, and it’s been a JOY following along. But with that said, I 100% understand needing to step back. I’ve had to do the same. With life and balancing IG and stuff, it’s really hard to blog consistently. And, alas, blogs don’t seem as popular as they once were back in the day. So though I am so sad to hear you’ll be posting less, I’m also really proud of you for making this decision and support you all the way. We shouldn’t let social media enslave our lives. It is OKAY to step back and shift how we do things. I’ve been learning that…a lot lately. Lol. So ALL that to say, though I will so, so miss your posts, I’m proud of you for making these changes to fit the changes of your life. That’s so important.
And EEP. I’m excited for you with school starting and just ALL the epic things you’re doing. You’re doing amazing, girl. I’m praying for you as you take this new season in life. I hope it’s a beautiful one. *HUGS*
Aw, thank you so much, Christine! It has seemed that blogging has changed in popularity over the years. I’m hoping to post some captions that have similarities to what I’ve been doing here! *HUGS*
