Monthly Wanderings: December 2021/End of the Year Post

I don’t even know if anyone reads these anymore, but this is the way I journal I suppose! I meant to get this out earlier, but like a lot of people I got COVID. XD

What I Did

1.) In December: I finished editing In Darkest Starlight and sent it off to betas!

In 2021: I edited one book and drafted another one. Pretty good for also doing school!

2.) In December: I went to the Atlanta History Center, finished my semester with straight As, visited family for Christmas and then got COVID after I got back. But it was just a cold for me. Totally worth getting it to see my family for the holidays. Weirdly enough none of my family got it. Just me. XD

In 2021: Though the year was off to a very rough start for me, 2021 overall felt brighter than the nightmare that was 2020. I got to see most of my loved ones again. I went to MegaCon, the Renaissance Festival, Savannah, and Realm Makers. I explored a lot of local sites. I started my first year of college. Though my future is different than I wanted it to be, it’s one I can be hopeful about again.

3.) In December: I did do a little reading an finish a Frankenstein manga!

In 2021: I didn’t read as much as I wanted to but I still read a bunch of great books! Howl’s Moving Castle, The Blood of Olympus, The Graveyard Book, and Circe had to be my favorites!

4.) In December: I did some sculpting for my friends and for a client!

In 2021: Since I started my Etsy shop Neverfound Figures, I’ve done a lot of sculptures, but here are some of my favorites. <3

The Geeky Department

1.) In December: In the gaming department, I finished Hollow Knight and started the Great Ace Attorney Chronicles! I also discovered that I absolutely love the board game Catan thanks to my cousins!

In 2021: My top games I’ve played this year had to be:

1.) Xenoblade Chronicles 2

2.) Ghost of Tsushima

3.) Nier: Automata

4.) Final Fantasy VII Integrate

2.) In December: Because I heard it wasn’t full of woke garbage, I saw Spider-Man No Way Home and I really enjoyed it! It’s the first Marvel anything I’ve seen since Endgame.

In 2021: My top five movies:

1.) Dune

2.) Spider-Man No Way Home

3.) Wolfwalkers

4.) A Quiet Place Part II

5.) The Breadwinner

3.) In December: While I was sick I binged the Witcher Season 2 and I liked it a lot more than the first season!

In 2021: My top five shows had to be:

1.) Fruits Basket

2.) Demonslayer

3.) Shadow and Bone

4.) The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance

4.)  In 2021: I finally got to wear my Suneater from My Hero Academia cosplay and I wore Macrophage from Cells at Work who had to be one of the best cosplays I’ve done. <3

What I’m Going to Do

1.) This Month: I’d like to at least read over the Silence Claws. We’ll see since I have a lot planned this month.

In 2022: Because of last year I’m not sure where I’m going in my writing journey. I’d like to finish In Darkest Starlight to pitch, but I’m just not confident that anyone wants to publish me anymore.

2.) This Month: I’m going to Washington D.C. for the March for Life! I’ve wanted to do this for years and my friend and I are finally going! I’m also starting my sophomore year of college!

In 2022: I’m hoping to attend MegaCon and Realm Makers and if everything lines up properly to finally visit Canada again.

3.) This Month: I’d like to finish at least one of the many books I’ve started but we’ll see. XD

In 2022: I’d like to read 15 books, but again we’ll see. XD

4.) This Month: I’m working on a few sculptures that I’m hoping to finish before the month is out. 🙂

In 2022: Hopefully, I’ll get more business for my Etsy shop! I’m planning on having a booth at Realm Makers!

I feel like I’m in a weird place in life. I feel like 2020 killed some dreams and I’ve had to make new ones, but I feel like they’re not as good as the ones I’ve had before. I’m not really sure what God is doing with my life, but I’m trying to keep moving forward and see what He has planned for me.

How was December? How was your holiday season? What are some of your plans for 2022?

I always enjoy reading these posts and seeing what you’ve been up to! I’m so glad to hear 2021 had so much goodness to it and proved to be better than 2020. I’m sorry you got COVID after Christmas though! But that’s great it was a mild case for you.

I feel you on not being sure where you’re life is going. I’ve definitely been experiencing that a LOT and questioning so many things… But I have to keep reminding myself God is still good, and He put us each on this earth and where we are for a reason. He’s got us, and He’ll lead us exactly where we’re supposed to be. Sometimes living the simple day-to-day IS what we’re supposed to be doing. Often we’re making a far bigger impact than we even realize. And that’s something I have to remember.

ANYWAY. Random TED talk. XD But I definitely feel you and am praying for you, friend. I do hope 2022 is a month full of blessings for you! <3
