Monthly Wanderings: November 2021

November was a pretty good month. I soaked up the beautiful fall weather and did a lot of writing.

What I Did

1.) Though I didn’t win NaNo I did get the first draft of my book finished which was the point. I just didn’t know it would be so insanely short. 😂

2.) I’m almost finished with school! One more week! Then I started a new job which has been going all right. I also had a nice Thanksgiving with family and went hiking at Mount Yonah on that Saturday. It was a tough hike but I made it!

3.) I have not had a lot of time to read, but I’m almost finished with the Dark Sea of Darkness and I’m trying to read a tale every night from my beautiful copy of Nordic Tales. ❤️

4.) I have been doing some sculpting but they’re for presents so I can’t show you guys yet. 😉

The Geeky Department

1.) Animal Crossing New Horizons had a huge update so I’m back to playing again and I’m enjoying all the new features!

2.) I’m taking another crack at Hollow Knight and though the gameplay can be frustrating the world-building is really unique. I mean a fantasy world of bugs is pretty darn cool.

What I’m Going to Do

1.) In December I’m going to take a break from my NaNo novel to finish editing in Darkness Starlight so I can send it to betas in January. ☺️

2.) Next month is of course Christmas which I’m really excited about. I’m going out of town to see family which will be fun. After Christmas, I’m going to a Final Fantasy VII full orchestra concert! I’m so excited!!!

3.) I’m hoping since I’ll be off school I’ll be able to get some more reading in.

4.) I plan to do more sculpting and I’ll have pics for you guys next month!

Let’s chat! How was your month? Are you enjoying the fall weather? How was your Thanksgiving? How was NaNoWriMo?

From one of your stories about cockroach in the shower – I am a child of the 40’s and 50’s, when nudity wasn’t such a big thing. Yeah we didn’t show it in movies, because the 30’s had done that too much. WWII made great changes to American culture, intermixing ideals from one area into another. Hawaii for example, where before WWII, few women at home, or around the village wore shirts – shirts were for going to the big city. However, the military Governor (apparently strict Christian) decided that thousands of young men embarking for the Pacific Theater might be over sexualized, so decreed that women must always wear shirts. Many more examples abound across America, but nudity was once no big thing.
