Hiatus Winter 2020

Hey, all! I’m taking my annual hiatus until January 18th (with the exception of my December 31st end of the year post) so I can spend time with my family and rest before going full steam ahead in the New Year. I know being able to be with my loved ones is a privilege many of you readers can’t share this year. 2020 has been a year of loneliness. I know I’ve struggled with more mental health issues than I have in ten years. Christmas is supposed to be a time of joy and peace. And though joy seems far away for so many I pray peace is still possible. I’m blessed to live in a part of the world where I’m still free to go spend time with my family and I’ll continue to fight in any way I can to maintain that freedom. I had several family gatherings this year and none of the family members who were of all ages got sick. Any family members who suspected of being in contact with the virus didn’t attend, because they were responsible. With all of this fear being shoved down our throats, we forget that we have an average of a 97% chance of surviving this virus and also about the mental health of people around the world. Our suicide rate has skyrocketed because people have lost hope. Christmas is the day when hope was born into the world in the incarnation of baby Jesus. The vaccine is on the way to be distributed to those who need it most or is already be out there by the time this post goes up. The end of this nightmare is coming.

Don’t forget to take off the mask and breathe in the fresh winter air. Let someone see your cheerful smile.

Have hope. Be free. God bless.

And have a merry Christmas.
