It’s Wonderful Word Wednesday again! Here’s this week’s word!
palliate
verb (used with object)
1.) to relieve or lessen without curing; mitigate; alleviate.
2.) to try to mitigate or conceal the gravity of (an offense) by excuses, apologies, etc.; extenuate.
Example Sentence: Redressing Dina’s wound with fresh bandages and honey would only palliate the severity of the bite.
