Wonderful Word Wednesday: Lorn

It’s Wonderful Word Wednesday and here is this week’s word!
lorn
adjective
1.) forsaken, desolate, bereft, or forlorn.
2. Archaic. lost, ruined, or undone.
Example Sentence: Smoke rose from the Red Hood manor in the distance; it’s powerful, familiar presence had crumbled into lorn ruins, a gravestone for the yet to be buried.

Hm, I like it, but it seems a little redundant if it means the same thing as "forlorn." Might have to think about that one.
