My very kind friend reminded me that I had signed up for Voice Week. So I’m posting this really last minute. ^ ^’
In Voice Week, you post a small bit from the point of view of a different character doing a scene each day for five days to try to strengthen the voice of each character. The voice is the individual thought pattern of the character and how they see the world.
Post number one will be Bryce from my science-fiction series Subsapien. I will post with snippets of Matt, Ingrid, Emil, and Brian too over the week. 🙂

Bryce swished his furry, spotted tail. What was
that? Would it hurt him? He crawled to the bowl and sniffed it. It smelled
sweet and like milk. What should he do with it? He reached out his hand and touched the white stuff with
his finger. It was cold, wet, and squishy.

He wiped it off frantically on the floor and

I love this innocent, instinctual voice. This concept seems so cool, I can't wait to learn more about it. Just the word "subsapien" has nabbed my attention.

You captured the tentativeness of a cat very well. A feline with human thought, I like it.

Ooh, poor Bryce. Personally, the picture kind of confused me because I think I'd have had a very different view f Bryce without it. But I love how you put us right in his head and showed his layers of worry.

Very interesting and different. Bryce could be a mutant or from another world. I like how you brought his fears and uncertainty to life.

Nice! I have a question, though. Why the quotation marks? They confused me a bit, as I was expecting the first line to be dialog.
Thanks. They were a formatting thing. I thought it would make the bit stand out more in the post since it looked muddled without. I guess I'll get rid of them. 😛
So far, Bryce sounds like the original scaredy-cat. Can't wait to see some other angles on this.
