<\/span> Campaign Monitor is a service which allows you to send out email campaigns which can be anything from product sales to a blog newsletter. Newsletters are a big thing for writers. If you’ve been looking into marketing for authors at all then you know about them. Having someone’s email shows that they’re committed and it’s a great way to keep your followers in the know. But if you’re like me then sending out a newsletter is intimidating especially the idea of it looking sloppy and unprofessional with a blurp of rogue code or an image that somehow shrunk to the size that only an ant can read. Campaign Monitor is easy enough for a novice to use so I can create a professional-looking campaign even though I’m not that great at coding. <\/span>

\n<\/p>\n

\n<\/span><\/div>\n


<\/span> Campaign Monitor let me try out their basic plan, which is $9 a month for emails up to 2,500 people, customer support via email, all core email marketing features, insights analytics suite, and basic marketing automation. <\/span>
\n
<\/span> First of all they had a helpful five-minute video to give a summary of the basics. By the end of it I had enough of an idea to get started. I got permission from a few friends to send out an email so I could test the service. Though I added them manually, it’s easy to make an email sign up form that will add followers to the newsletter automatically and you can even import followers. The analytics are pretty cool as you can see if people clicked on the links and if the emails were opened. You can also see where in the world your subscribers are.<\/span>

<\/span> Then there was the design part which I was honestly nervous about the most but all of the templates made it easy. I managed to find one for bloggers which is just what I needed. It was as simple as Blogger to play around with images, colors, and fonts so I could customize the newsletter to fit the style of my blog. It even has buttons included, which look really snazzy if I do say so myself, so I could simply add links to my blog to go with the posts. Images were easy to add and edit to fit the size I wanted, without warped formatting. I’m really happy with how my first one came out!<\/span>

\n<\/span><\/div>\n


<\/span> Overall, I really like the service. I’d like to explore it more thoroughly after the holidays. You too can even explore all of the features for free and you don’t have to pay a dime until you send to over five people, so you can thoroughly test it out before committing. I can see this as being especially handy for when I have a novel published because I can make sleek sales notifications that look as professional as high dollar companies instead of the basic embed links to Amazon.<\/span>
