It’s day three for <\/span>Voice Week<\/a>! This week I’m posting<\/span> a small bit from the point of view of different characters characters from my science-fiction series Subsapien<\/i><\/a> doing a scene each day for five days to try to strengthen the voice of each character. The voice is the individual thought pattern of the character and how they see the world. <\/span>I’ve already posted <\/span>a small bit with Bryce<\/a> and another one with Matt<\/a><\/span>. Today I’m doing Ingrid. ^ ^ Snippets from the point of views of <\/span>Emil<\/a> and <\/span>Brian<\/a> will be posted over the week too.<\/span>

Ingrid<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

\nIngrid lay down on the test room floor, her eyes closed and her feathered wings wrapped around her shoulders like a blanket. Just a short nap was all she needed. If only they did her tests at night instead of the day.<\/p>\n

The door opened.<\/p>\n

She sat up, her head light for a moment from the quick movement. Please, God, don\u2019t let them do anything awful today.<\/i>

<\/i>
\nHer handler set a bowl of three cream-colored balls on the floor. Then she left, the door shutting behind her.<\/p>\n

Ingrid got to her feet and walked over to the bowl, her bare feet squishing on the white foam floor. The stuff in the bowl looked like food, but feeding time wasn\u2019t until that night. She crouched next to it. If only she had Matt\u2019s sharp scent to check it for drugs.<\/p>\n

She picked up the bowl. Even through the plastic, she could feel the white stuff\u2019s coldness. Maybe this was a treat. She\u2019d just test it first. She scooped some of it on her finger and licked it off. Mmm! It was sugary like cookies. Matt and Bryce would love this. They loved milk.<\/p>\n
